Best Ultra-Thin Laptops: Not so long ago, if you were looking for the best ultra-thin laptops, you had a limited choice: the MacBook Air was the leader and you had other laptops that were trying to create a slim, quality laptop with limited success. But times have changed. Nowadays, there are many thin laptops on the market. These machines meet all the requirements of a lightweight ultrabook, which means they are rugged and portable, they carry modern Intel hardware, and are powerful enough to handle everyday activities, but they can last more than 7 hours on each charge. However, keep in mind that the lower your budget, the more you will have to compromise.
Best Ultra-Thin Laptops
These modern slim and lightweight machines have as much to do with portability as pure power. You do not have to worry about freezing your Ultrabook in the middle of an important project or your battery when you’re in the middle of a major school project. Today, we are here with a list of the Best Ultra-Thin Laptops for you.

- The power button lets you log on with just a touch
- A 2.25mm high quality HD webcam gives you the best camera experience.
The Dell XPS 13 has long been considered one of the best ultra-thin laptops on the market and is easily recommended, especially if you want something very thin and light. If you want higher performance, an alternative model with a Comet Lake processor might be right for you. However, this design, which we tested with an Intel Core i7-1065G7 “Ice Lake” processor, is much more streamlined.
Switching to a 16:10 display provides more vertical space on the screen, which is great for productivity. Instead of a 1920 x 1080 (1080p) display on the XPS 13 base panel, you get 1920 x 1200, which goes up to 3840 x 2400 (instead of 3840 x 2160) on the 4K screen. The XPS 13 also scored very well in our battery test, which lasted over 13 hours on a model with a 1920 x 1200 display. The 4K screen lasted a respectable 8 hours and 14 minutes on one charge.

Asus strengthens its game when it comes to gaming notebooks. Example: the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14, which is powered by AMD’s powerful Ryzen 9-4900HS processor and is a powerful multitasker. But in combination with an Nvidia RTX 2060 Max-Q-GPU, the laptop is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to games. Equipped with a lightning-fast SSD, a bright 14-inch 120 Hz screen, a comfortable keyboard, and strong speakers in a beautiful milky-white magnesium alloy, the ROG Zephyrus G14 is an almost perfect gaming notebook.
But where the Zephyrus G14 shines is in the battery life. The top laptop lasted 11 hours and 32 minutes in our Battery Test, making it the most durable gaming notebook ever. That’s almost three times the average length of a 4:26 gaming laptop. In the end, between its grueling AMD performance and epic battery life, the Zephyrus G14 is the gaming laptop to beat.

HP has a long tradition of making laptops you can rely on, and the HP Envy 13 is no different – it’s one of the best options you’ll find in the mid-range laptop market. We include it here because of its excellent value for money. This is a laptop that will give you pleasure for a long time. The 13.3-inch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels is at the forefront here – bright and sharp and ideal for streaming video, surfing the web, and working on documents.
Although creative professionals may want a little more in the screen landscape, the smaller display makes this laptop a portable device, and its solid build quality means you don’t feel you have to be extra careful with it. With a selection of Intel’s core processors inside and some compelling combinations of RAM and internal memory also available, this is a laptop ready to handle all but the most demanding tasks (don’t try to bet on it). Special mention should be made of the audio, developed in collaboration with Bang and Olufsen, which sounds great. Overall, this is one of the best ultra-thin laptops.
5. MacBook Air 2020

- Intel Iris Plus Graphics
- Fast SSD storage
- 8GB of memory
- Stereo speakers with wider stereo sound
- Two Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) ports
- Up to 11 hours of battery life
- Force Touch trackpad
It’s incredible what a difference the right keyboard can make. Since 1999, MacBook Air 2020 features the improved Magic Keyboard, which replaces the butterfly switch with a scissors-action mechanism that makes typing much more comfortable. Apple has also upgraded the Air to the 10th generation Intel Core processors (8th generation and later). This is a Y series chip (which is not as powerful as the U series CPUs), but it turned out to be sufficient for everyday use and basic multitasking.
Apple not only lowered the price by $100 but also doubled the standard memory of MacBook Air from a 128GB SSD to a 256GB drive, which still offers lightning-fast read speeds. MacBook Air also has great endurance, with a battery that lasts all day. In our web surfing test, it took 9 hours and 31 minutes (nearly 50 minutes longer than the regular system) to fully charge MacBook Air. Add to that Apple’s relatively bright and colorful Retina display and surprisingly powerful speakers, and you have the best ultra-thin laptop for most Apple fans.

- 13.9" 4k Ultra HD touch screen - 3840 x 2160 resolution, IPS technology, LED backlight Integrated Intel Iris Plus graphics
- 10th Gen Intel Core i7-1065G7 processor - Ultra-low-voltage, Quad-core, eight-way processing, Intel Turbo Boost technology; 16GB LPDDR4 2400 MHz memory; 512GB SSD + 32GB Optane
- Two Thunderbolt 3 ports for connecting advanced monitors and external drives; Built-in HD webcam with stereo microphone; Microphone-in/headphone-out combo jack.
- Weighs 3 lbs. and is 0.6" thin overall; Four-cell lithium-polymer battery. Windows 10 operating system; One-month trial of Microsoft Office 365.
With the Yoga C940, Lenovo took a formula and refined it. Subtle design improvements, long battery life (up to 11:46), and updated 10th generation Intel processors make the Lenovo Yoga C940 a worthy successor to last year’s outstanding Yoga C930. As you’d expect from a Yoga Series laptop, the C940 features a premium, ultra-portable chassis, and a unique hinge that doubles as a soundbar speaker. As a 2-in-1 speaker, this hinge can be rotated 360 degrees to turn the Yoga C940 into a real tablet.
When it comes to viewing content, the Yoga C940’s 1080p and 4K displays are clear, rich, and vibrant; watch out, the ultra-HD display takes the battery out of sight. When it comes to the basics, what I like most about the Yoga C940 are the additional features. These include a webcam cover (no more tape required), a slot for the included pen, and a fingerprint sensor. All in all, this is one of the best ultra-thin laptops you can buy right now.
7. Microsoft Surface Pro 7
Microsoft Surface Pro 7 Bundle: 10th Gen Intel Core i5-1035G4, 8GB RAM,...
Surface Pro 7 is an excellent laptop for last year’s Surface Pro 6 and gives it a performance boost. While the battery life is a hit, the new 10th generation CPU delivers outstanding performance. The design has not changed at all, but the Surface Pro 7 now has a USB-C port for charging and connecting peripherals. Microsoft continues to sell the comfortable Alcantara cover and the super-sensitive Surface Pen, which makes drawing and writing easier on the tablet’s vibrant and bright 12.3-inch display. Overall, this is currently one of the best ultra-thin laptops available.
8. Asus ZenBook 14

- 14 inch 400nits Full HD (1920x1080), Anti-Glare IPS level NanoEdge bezel display

- Fast storage and memory featuring 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD with 8GB LPDDR4X RAM
- Built-in IR camera for facial recognition sign in with Windows Hello
- ErgoLift hinge, NumberPad, and backlit keyboard
This is simply a beautiful laptop from Asus, which we like to have in our list of the best ultrabooks; if you want the perfect combination of performance and style, this could be the case, and as a bonus, you get a trackpad that can also be used as a handy second display. If you take a look at the specifications, you’ll see that this is a laptop that is more than suitable for any task you want to perform, even video editing and low-resolution gaming (note the Nvidia GeForce option).
Despite all this raw power, the price is not too high. And then there’s the design: this is one of the best-looking laptops we’ve ever seen, and even the display hinge is a work of art. It turns everything you need with aplomb, and it looks the way you do it – what more do you need?
9. MacBook Pro 16-inch
Apple MacBook Pro (16-inch, 16GB RAM, 512GB Storage, 2.6GHz Intel Core i7)...
- Ninth-generation 6-Core Intel Core i7 Processor
- Stunning 16-inch Retina Display with True Tone technology
- Touch Bar and Touch ID
- AMD Radeon Pro 5300M Graphics with GDDR6 memory
- Ultrafast SSD
- Ninth-generation 6-Core Intel Core i7 Processor
- Stunning 16-inch Retina Display with True Tone technology
- Touch Bar and Touch ID
- AMD Radeon Pro 5300M Graphics with GDDR6 memory
- Ultrafast SSD
- Intel UHD Graphics 630
- Six-speaker system with force-cancelling woofers
- Four Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) ports
- Up to 11 hours of battery life
- 802.11ac Wi-Fi
The 16-inch MacBook Pro is your type if you’ve been waiting for Apple to make a good keyboard. The Magic Keyboard on this premium laptop swallows the butterfly mechanism in favor of the scissor switches, and the result is a much more comfortable typing experience. You also get a razor-sharp 16-inch display with slimmer edges, powerful performance from an available Intel Core i9 CPU, and robust AMD Radeon 5300M or 5500M graphics.
You can also configure the laptop with up to 64GB of RAM and 8TB of memory if you want to spend more money. The battery life of 11 hours is another advantage of this laptop that does not fall into the runtimes of its competitors. The 16-inch MacBook Pro is expensive, and Apple still doesn’t have full-size USB ports, but overall this is one of the best ultra-thin laptops for creative professionals.
10. Acer Aspire 5
Acer Aspire 5 A515-55G-57H8, 15.6" Full HD IPS Display, 10th Gen Intel...
- 10th Generation Intel Core i5-1035G1 Processor (Up to 3.6GHz)| 8GB DDR4 Memory | 512GB NVMe SSD

- Windows 10 Home
The Acer Aspire 5 proves that you don’t have to spend much to get a great laptop. This notebook has a Full HD screen that is quite bright, making it perfect for surfing the web, editing photos quickly, and watching videos on Netflix, YouTube, or Disney Plus. And thanks to a 10th-generation Core i5 processor, 8GB RAM, and 256GB SSD, it has all the power you need for everyday tasks and multitasking. It’s all packed into a pretty light 3.8-pound case.
The most pleasant surprise of the Aspire 5 is the battery life. This laptop lasted almost 9 hours on our web surf battery test, which is very good for a 15-inch system. There are a few things we don’t like about this inexpensive laptop; while the lid is made of high-quality aluminum, the rest of the unit is plastic. You should also not expect to play the latest games. But overall, the Aspire 5 is one of the best ultra-thin laptops you can buy at the moment.
