ASUS VivoBook 15 F510UA

ASUS VivoBook 15 F510UA

ASUS VivoBook 15 offers you the perfect combination of beauty and performance. Its narrow NanoEdge border, brushed metal surface, the latest Intel Core processor, and fast DDR4 RAM make VivoBook S15 suitable for today’s fast-paced urban life. Fixing a 15.6-inch Full HD screen to a typical 14-inch notebook headset is not easy – the ultra-thin, 7.8 mm ASUS NanoEdge edge made it possible. With the NanoEdge design, the VivoBook 15 has an incredible 78% display/frame ratio and a larger screen for the eye-catching viewing experience. The Full HD screen also features a 178-degree full viewing angle technology that ensures color and contrast are live and even look great at viewing angles.

The VivoBook F510UA has 8GB of memory along with 1TB 5400rpm of storage. That does sound like a lot of storage space, but its slower than the solid-state-drive (SSD) storage you get on modern systems. With a thinner chassis, the number of full-size USB ports is lower than what you’d find on notebooks, and the optical drive is also dropped. On the Vivobook AH51, all you have is a USB 3.1 port (Type-C), a USB 3.0 port, a USB 2.0 port, and an HDMI port. The HDMI is the full size, which is better than the mini-HDMI that’s becoming common among ultrabooks.  With USB 3.1 Type-C connector, you can power peripherals such as USB monitors and storage arrays seamlessly. Also included are an SD card reader and a 3.5mm headset jack and a webcam, but the Ethernet port is gone. Wireless connectivity comes via 802.11ac Wi-Fi.

Acer Aspire 5

Acer Aspire 5

The Aspire 5 is designed to keep a mid-range budget in mind, most of the body is plastic. The below half, where all the parts go, is well built and feels sturdy. The Aspire 5 is also slim enough for a 15.6-inch notebook, measuring about 20.95mm thick. On the other hand, it is still heavy at 2.2 kg for you to feel the weight in your backpack. Inside, in this configuration, you get a 256GB SSD for storage, plus the latest Intel Core i5-8250U processor and 8GB of DDR4 RAM. Other configs include a 128GB SSD and a 1TB hard drive, while there is a multitude of CPU’s to choose from or the option of a Nvidia graphics card.

Regarding connectivity, this large chassis means there is plenty of room for the ports. On the right edge are two USB 3.0 and a headphone jack, with the power input. On the left are an SD card reader, a third USB 3.0 port, an HDMI, a USB Type-C, an Ethernet jack and a Kensington lock slot.

Acer Aspire E15

Acer Aspire E15 (2018 Edition)

The Acer Aspire E 15 is just such a notebook, aggressively priced at $600 for our review. It packs in a 15.6-inch Full HD (1,920 x 1,080 or X PPI) display, an eighth-generation Intel Core i5-8250U CPU, a discrete Nvidia GeForce MX150 GPU, 8GB of RAM, a DVD-RW drive, and a 256GB SATA solid-state drive (SSD). Instead of a 4K-resolution touchscreen, you’ll find a perfectly suitable 15.6-inch full HD display. It’s a good screen overall with pleasing color and way better off-angle viewing than you’ll typically find at this price.

Most of the Aspire E 15’s ports — its pair of USB 3.0 ports, HDMI port, VGA port, Ethernet jack, security lock slot and USB Type-C port (which doesn’t draw power) — sit on the left side. There’s an SD memory reader on the left side of the front edge, and a USB 2.0 port, headphone jack, power input and DVD-RW double-layer drive are on the right. The Aspire E 15’s backlit keyboard, which includes a number pad, offers a comfortable typing experience. The Intel Core i5-8250U processor and 8GB of memory in the Acer Aspire E 15 provide enough speed for productive multitasking sessions. After splitting its screen between a 1080p YouTube video and a dozen Google Chrome tabs (including Giphy, Google Docs, and Slack), I saw only slight, acceptable pauses as I clicked between tabs and scrolled through pages.

9.3Expert Score
2nd Runner-up: Acer Aspire E15 Score: 9.3/10

Colorful display, long battery life, and high build quality make the Aspire Aspire E a great value.

Dell Inspiron 15 5000

Dell Inspiron 15 5000

Just because you are getting something affordable does not mean you should make a lot of compromises. With its 8th generation Intel Core i5 processor, the Dell Inspiron 15 5000 ($ 565) is a great working tool. The Dell 15.6-inch mid-range notebook is a bland and massive block. It has long been the cause that the Inspiron range has no sort of artistic muse, and the Inspiron 15 5000 follows this trend. By lifting the lid, we discover the 15.6-inch 1080p screen surrounded by an almost offensively thick bezel and plastic platinum with a faux-brushed appearance. There is a fingerprint reader on the power button, and the keyboard is a black collection of island-style keys.

The Inspiron 15 has its fair part of ports, including an HDMI output, an Ethernet jack, a headphone jack and 3 USB 3.0 ports, as well as an SD card reader and a disk drive. The Dell Inspiron 15 comes with an Intel Core i5-8250U processor and 8GB of RAM, which is ready for multitasking, its 1TB hard drive, 5,400rpm is slow compared to the SSD’s you get in a lot of laptops (you can pay more to configure the Inspiron with an SSD).

PROS:
  • Solid performance
  • Affordable

CONS:
  • Poor display
  • Bland design
  • Short battery life

SPECIFICATION
Processor Newest Intel 8th Quad Core i5-8250U 6MB cache with Turbo Boost Technology up to 3.4GHz

Lenovo Ideapad 320

2018 Lenovo Business Flagship Laptop

When it comes to making powerful yet beautiful machines, Lenovo sure knows its way. Lenovo business flagship is a notebook crafted with keeping the same ideology in mind. This machine is a perfect example of the outcome when raw power meets beautiful design. Powered by a powerful 8th generation Intel Core i5 quad-core processor coupled with 8GB of DDR4 RAM. Like every year, Lenovo has updated the design and looks of this laptop. Unlike the earlier Lenovo laptops which had dual tone exterior with non-glossy and scratchy plastic, this one has an aluminum lid.

The laptop sports a stunning 15.6-inch resolution 1366 by 768 HD touchscreen for high-quality images and fine detail. It has an energy efficient LED backlit panel. The display is Anti-Glare and looks pretty good from various viewing angles. As you strength guess given the price, these aren’t all the top-spec connectors. One of the USBs is a 2.0 socket rather than 3.0, and the USB-C does not support the ultra-high bandwidth Thunderbolt 3 standard.  The full-size HDMI and SD card slot are far more critical.

For the average buyer, the Lenovo IdeaPad has much more useful connectivity than a MacBook, even without genuinely high-end ports. Lenovo IdeaPad 320 is a powerful and beautiful machine with an impressive price tag.  However, it is not a great device for those who are into hardcore gaming because of the lack of dedicated Graphics memory. So, if you are looking for a suitable laptop with an affordable price tag, you should definitely go for the 2018 Lenovo business flagship laptop.

PROS:
  • Elegant design
  • Seventh gen CPU
  • USB Type-C port
  • Good audio

CONS:
  • Slower startup times
  • Battery life

Lenovo Thinkpad E570

Lenovo Thinkpad E570

Lenovo offers entry-level notebooks in its ThinkPad E line. After testing a ThinkPad E570. The processor choices are either Intel Core i3-7100U, Core i5-7200U and Core i7-7500U. All are 7th generation low voltage models with Kaby Lake architecture. The i3 runs on 2.4 GHz, i5 on 2.5 GHz and i7 on the clock frequency of 2.7 GHz – and the i5 has 3.1GHz and i7 a boost of 3.5GHz helping performance. When closed, the notebook hardly stands out from the rest of the 15-inch ThinkPads. It has rounded corners and a black matte plastic finish. However, this finish is not the usual soft-touch or rubberized material – it looks like more glass than anything because of the soft, cold feel. The stuff seems to be slightly flexible but does not show ripples on the LCD panel when it is barely seated at the back.

We find the positioning of the ports a little awkward- towards the front of the base. If the most of them are connected, all the cables could interfere in the workplace is too small. Anyway, the distribution of I / O is more than satisfactory. The left side contains the 2 USB 3.0 ports, an HDMI connector, USB-C 3.1 (Gen 1) and a VGA connector, although we do not know why they still include this one. A Core i5-7200U dual-core processor (Kaby Lake) is installed in the ThinkPad. This multi-talent ULV (TDP: 15 watts) looks good in all application scenarios and should fully meet the needs of most users.

PROS:
  • Decent display
  • Good sound output
  • Strong GPU

CONS:
  • Average performance
  • Runs hot

Dell Inspiron i3567-5185BLK-PUS

Dell Inspiron i3567-5185BLK-PUS

The Dell Inspiron i3567-5185BLK-PUS has been designed as an affordable and powerful desktop replacement laptop. This mid-range laptop is ideal for the home and office, for college or as a multimedia center around the house. This Dell Inspiron i3567 comes with a 15.6-inch TL (1366 x 768) HD display. I think it is shameful for a $ 506 laptop not to have a full HD screen. If this had been such a display, I would have considered it an excellent device for home users. The Dell Inspiron i3567-5185BLK-PUS comes with a 7th generation Intel Core i5-7200U processor. It’s a dual-core processor that is on par with its i3 desktop counterpart, regarding performance. It has a base frequency of 2.5 GHz up to 3.1 GHz when running in turbo mode and has 3 megabytes of cache size.

The storage space is abundant. The Dell Inspiron 3567 comes with a 1-terabyte 5400rpm hard drive. This is a much slower device than the high-performance solid-state drives that continue to replace them. And the 8 gigabytes of DDR4 RAM provided by Dell will be more than enough for the vast majority of people who do not need a laptop to get highly specialized results. The standard amount will allow you to manipulate large data sets, perform many intensive tasks, edit photos quickly, and run intensive scripts on individual web pages that consume system memory as There was no tomorrow. Overall, the Dell Inspiron i3567-5185BLK-PUS is an excellent mid-range notebook, more potent than the competitively priced competition, but less of a replacement laptop and more than one computer Office.

SPECIFICATION

Acer Swift 3

Acer Swift 3

The Acer Swift 3, then, is one of the best laptops around for anyone with a budget. By making full use of its 14-inch 1080p Full HD panel, its 0.71-inch frame, and its 3.5 kg (1.6 kg) weight, it’s hard to call the Acer Swift 3 anything other than generic – at least as far as first impressions go. The 14-inch LED-backlit display is an area in which Acer had to compromise. Unfortunately, the resolution is also just 1366×768 and not full-HD or higher, which according to Acer, was a choice is made to keep the price as aggressive as possible. With its all-metal housing, Intel Core i5-7200U processor, Full HD display and 10 hours battery life, this version of the Acer Swift 3 has it all. The bottom half of the Acer Sift 3 is wedge-shaped, but it’s thick enough to accommodate normal-sized ports.

On the left side, we have an HDMI port, USB 3.0 and USB Type-C (Gen 1, 5Gbps) ports with charging connector and LEDs for activity and hard drive charging. And, on the right side, we have an SD card reader, a headphone/microphone combo jack, a USB 2.0 port and a Kensington lock. Acer has cleverly placed the intake and exhaust ports near the hinge never accidentally to interfere with the flow of air. The edges of the Swift 3 are rounded, so you do not feel anything sharp during use.

PROS:
  • Aluminum construction
  • 8th-Gen Core processor
